Time

How I wish time would just stretch
on and on and on and on and on
Whenever I feel like it, whenever
On and on and on and on and on

Annoyingly I wield the magic wand
On and on and on and on and on
Delaying everyone’s inevitable futures
On and on and on and on and on.

Now, the clock hits twelve
And the second hand rushes
Guiding the minutes and hours
Everything flies by as I lose control

And now I am here, in the moment
The predicted awful present to be
Room filled with echoes of anger
Tears held in tightly till it ends

And then my panic takes control
On and on and on and on and on
The downward spiral’s guiding light
On and on and on and on and on
And on.

I am an Amsterdam based writer, to whom poetry comes easiest. Love to explore storytelling, and how that works in real life as well. Curious about most things.
